This privacy policy explains how personal data and technical information may be processed when you use Historical Data Assistant.

Controller
Scope
This policy applies to visits to the website, use of the investigation workspace, submitted contact messages and technical or product analytics generated through use of the application.
Hosting
This website is hosted using Vercel. To deliver and secure the website, Vercel may process technical request information such as IP-related information, request metadata, browser type, operating system and timestamps.
This processing supports website delivery, operational security, reliability and error diagnosis.
Investigation input and evidence
Users may submit problem descriptions, answers, SQL, PySpark, tables, images or other files as investigation evidence. These inputs may contain business or personal information.
Submitted evidence is processed only as necessary to provide the requested investigation functionality. It is not intended to be stored permanently as product analytics or reused as raw customer data for unrelated purposes.
Users should avoid submitting personal data, credentials, secrets, production access tokens or confidential information that is not required for the investigation.
Product analytics
Historical Data Assistant collects limited product usage events to understand how the application is used, identify technical problems and improve the investigation experience. Analytics are used to improve the product rather than to build individual user profiles.
Events may include page views, selected experience modes, investigation starts and completions, question interactions, evidence types, feature usage and general investigation status.
Product analytics should use anonymized or normalized metadata wherever practical. Raw uploaded datasets, raw SQL, raw PySpark code, images and complete free-text investigation descriptions are not intended to be retained as analytics event content.
After an investigation, users may voluntarily submit structured quality feedback and select predefined reason codes. This feedback may include only a coarse result category, confidence band, evidence-type codes and the number of answered questions. Investigation messages, SQL, uploaded evidence, file names, free-text feedback, session identifiers, IP hashes, browser information and referrer information are not included in this feedback record.
AI-assisted processing
AI services are used only when required to provide the requested functionality, such as understanding user input, extracting structured facts or producing professional explanations.
Raw uploaded datasets, customer-specific SQL, PySpark, schemas, table rows, images and implementation details are not retained as product analytics or reused for unrelated product learning.
Technical metadata
Depending on the enabled services, analytics or operational events may contain a timestamp, page path, referrer category, browser information, device information, session identifiers and pseudonymized or hashed technical identifiers.
Vercel Analytics
The website may use Vercel Web Analytics to measure page views and basic usage patterns. According to Vercel, its Web Analytics product does not require third-party cookies and uses anonymized or privacy-oriented traffic measurement.
Supabase
The application may use Supabase to store structured internal product analytics events and other application data required for operation. Stored analytics events are intended to describe product usage rather than retain raw investigation evidence.
Purpose of processing
Information may be processed for the following purposes:
- providing the requested website and investigation functions;
- maintaining security, availability and reliability;
- diagnosing errors and preventing misuse;
- understanding feature usage and product performance;
- improving the user experience and investigation quality;
- responding to messages sent by email.
Data retention
Personal data and technical information should be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by applicable legal obligations. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and service involved.
Service providers and international processing
Hosting, analytics and database providers may process information in countries outside Switzerland. Where required, appropriate contractual, organizational or legal safeguards are used for international data processing.
Contact by email
When you contact the project operator by email, the information you provide is processed to handle and respond to your request. Email communication may be retained where reasonably necessary to document the correspondence.
Your rights
Subject to applicable data protection law, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including rights to request information, correction, deletion or restriction of processing.
